Critics Consensus: Assassin's Creed III

Graphics:
Hardcore Gamer Magazine called the game beautiful, 4Players.De praised the games elegant vistas and mountians and lastly VideoGamer also called the game beautiful as many other critics did. The graphics are up to par with the best in the industry right now. 
Gameplay:
SourceFed's Meg Turney said that the game was glitchy sometimes like for instance petting air instead of a dog and characters getting stuck in the ground (Skyrim anyone?) but still said that the parkour scenes made up for it.The Escapist praised the nimble combat and lastly EuroGamer Italy praised the new mechanics. The gameplay is pitch perfect in this game. It should be.
Other (Sound,Plot):
Gametrailers said that the story started a little slow but then got amazingly gripping and intense. Spaziogames also praised a certain character and they said it was the best game in the franchise because of that character. That's saying a lot.
Overall:
It's pretty obvious which game you should get this week. You are staring the box art. Go buy it right now.

A jovem de 16 anos Katniss Everdeen se voluntaria no lugar de sua irmã mais nova e precisa confiar no seu afiado instinto quando confronta tributos altamente treinados e que se preparam a vida inteira para os jogos. Se o plano é voltar para o distrito 12, Katniss deve fazer escolhas impossíveis na arena, que pesam contra a sobrevivência da humanidade e da sua vida.

Crítica:
   Esse filme não é ruim, porém poderia ter sido melhor, ao invés de fazer cenas muito dramáticas, o filme poderia ter mais cenas mostrando as batalhas dos jogos, mais cenas de aventura e ação. A trilha sonora, poderia ter sido melhor também, para tornar o filme mais empolgante. O final, concerteza deixou muito a desejar, ao invés de fazer uma grande batalha final, o filme simplesmente ficou mais parado ainda.
  As atuações foram muito boas, se destacaram Amandla Stenberg e Jennifer Lawrence, mas os outros também estavam bem.
  Eu não recomendo esse filme, se quiser ver vá em frente só não espere muitas cenas de ação e aventura pois não vão acontecer.

Critics Consensus:Fun Size

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Fun Size a new teen comedy about Halloween!

These movies are never good. Tween comedies. Every screen junkie should despise them. Which explains why Fun Size is a mess. It is more of like ice cream to kids but when you look at it in the eye you will find out it is just teen hormones at room temperature as The New York Post stated. That means all the humping jokes you could imagine. Tri City Herald said that this was the opposite of fun. More of like Dull Size. LOL
Overall do not see this movie.
Fun Size is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: Silent Hill:Revelation

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a sequel to 2006's Silent Hill.

Silent Hill came out in 2006. It took six years to make a sequel. Like we needed one. For example a 17 out of 100 on Metacritic. Wait what! Even The Apparition has a higher score than that. Remember that? DON'T REMEMBER THAT! Slant magazine said that the movie had nothing to do with Silent Hill,The A.V Club affirmed that it was disjointed, Village Voice gave it a 0\100 and it has a lower score than The Apparition!

Overall do not see this movie. If someone recommended this movie to you and you saw it, roundhouse kick them in the face. Real hard.

Critics Consensus: Cloud Atlas

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Cloud Atlas a new movie made by the directors of The Matrix.

Mixed Reviews Movie Moment Of The Month: Yes that was an alliteration but seriously this movie is getting really mixed reviews for example, Salon.com gave it a 10\10 saying that it was wildly entertaining and thrilling while L.A. Weekly gave it a 10\100 bellowing that it was boring and insipid. The Alantic explained that it was as emotionless as a Hallmark card while Giant Freaking Robot said that the good parts of the movie made up for the bad parts. The best thing about the movie whether you like it or not is the costume design. It is probably going to get an Oscar for that.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.

Critics Consensus: Medal Of Honor:Warfighter

Shooters are probably the most profitable game genre this generation. However every company has it's faults. THQ's was last year with Homefront, and Electronic Arts had theirs with the game I am covering as you read, Medal Of Honor:Warfighter.  Smosh Games complained about the repetitive scenes,IGN said that the campaign was confusing,GameReactor Sweden stated it was mediocre and finally Gametrailers explained that the game was sheer boredom.
Overall high production values can not save a crappy script. Do not buy this. You will regret every minute of it.

Critics Consensus: The Sessions

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is The Sessions a drama about a sick man who is trying to lose his virginity. Surprisingly this is under much Oscar buzz.
NOTE: I have decided that there will be five posts on Friday with Medal of Honor:Warfighter. 

Whenever sex is portrayed in a movie it is usually shown in a silly or suggestive manner. Examples include American Pie, The Change-Up,Love and Other Drugs etc. Well this might be the first time that it is not shown in a way that is like "Hey guys it's funny because I'm ******* * ****" (censored because everybody is on the Internet)  Even the New York Times praised this about the movie,Variety also declared that The Sessions humor is fantastic,Miami Herald stated that newcomer John Hawkes performance was amazing and lastly Matt Pais from RedEye said this movie was a crowd pleaser.
Overall this movie is fantastic but only see it if you want to because it is centered around sex. That's just awkward.
The Sessions is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Skylanders Giants

NOTE: Medal Of Honor:Warfighter will be covered sooner or later because of late reviews.

Well remember last year when your kids were like Mommy\Daddy! Can I get the new Skylanders game! You would ask why because you would not think your child knew about Skylanders and then you find out it is a giant toy gimmick. Or you are like me where I do not have kids and found out about it some way or another.
Those toy shenanigans are going to happen again thanks to a new Skylanders game. Do not worry because you will have fun with your kids playing this game because 82% of critics liked it,Gaming Nexus said it would satisfy all gamers,Canadian Online Gamers praised the new characters,and lastly Worth Playing said that it was fun for all gamers. 
Overall only get this game if you have kids.

Skylanders Giants is rated E10+.

My Personal Opinion: Argo

NOTE: This is different than the posts we have on this blog because instead of the critics opinion this is my opinion. This time it is Argo.

Sometimes a movie comes out that it is so good it would be dumb not to nominate it for an Oscar. It would be dumb to hate it. In fact Argo is one of those movies. The acting is spot-on, the script is well written, it is insanely intense and suspenseful, I mean seriously what else could you want? Argo is a near perfect movie. The only perfect movie is The Godfather. Argo is one of the greatest movies in a while and I say that in the best way possible. Oh did I mention it was also funny too?
Argo is rated R.

Ao tentar limpar a reputação da agência, o grupo descobre um plano para começar uma guerra nuclear. Agora, para salvar o mundo, eles precisam usar todos os truques tecnológicos existentes. A missão nunca foi tão real, tão perigosa e nem tão impossível.

Crítica:
       Esse filme é muito bom, a trama prende o espectador através de cenas com muita ação e adrenalina, a trilha sonora é ótima, nos entrosando ainda mais. O filme vai ficando cada vez mais empolgante ao longo da história, enquanto os mistérios vão se resolvendo, você vai querer saber cada vez mais, o que va acontecer no final. Gosto muito da maneira como o filme abusou da tecnologia, tornando-o ainda mais interessante. E quanto ao final? Perfeito, há ainda mais adrenalina e ação.
      O elenco estava ótimo, Tom Cruise se destacou entre todos, pela facilidade que tem em atuar em cenas, visivelmente difíceis, assim como Jeremy Renner, mas todos estavam ótimos.
       Com toda certeza vale a pena ver esse filme, não irá se arrepender.

In 2010 the Kinect came out. It sold like hotcakes and then no-one used it ever again kinda like the Wii. Well here is a very good reason to dust off the old Kinect. Dance Central 3 is getting amazing reviews from Gaming Trend who called it the best reason to own a Kinect,GamingXP said it was the best Xbox dancing game,Electronic Gaming Monthly stated it was the best functionality in a Kinect game and last but not least,G4 said it offers some of the best tracks for a Dance Central game.
Overall get this game if you have a Kinect.

Critics Consensus: Forza Horizon

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new Forza game.

The Forza games are good games but have been criticized for having no action. Well they add action to the mix which no wonder classifies a Teen rating but also makes it have a 86 on Metacritic with Giant Bomb calling it fun for every gamer,Game Over Online praised how there was no online pass,Gaming Age's critic bellowed that he would highly recommend it and Vandal Online loved the attention to detail in the game saying that it makes the game shine.
Overall get this game but if you have a big enough hole in your wallet from Dishonored and XCOM:Enemy Unknown,rent this.

Critics Consensus: Alex Cross

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new Tyler Perry movie but with a new twist. It's a action movie!

Tyler Perry has made a lot of crappy movies. Unfortunately this one can add to the pile. Alex Cross means well but is too dumb as Village Voice stated,laughable as Newsday stated, non entertaining, as the Tri City herald exclaimed, and horrific writing and dialogue as San Fransisco Chronicle asserted. Nothing but negative reviews hit this clunker.
Overall only see this movie if you really really really want to. Do not say I did not tell you because I most certainly did.

Critics Consensus: Paranormal Activity 4

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new Paranormal Activity movie. Here we go again.

Every year another Twilight. Every year another Fast And Furious. Every year another Paranormal Activity. Paranormal Activity 4 takes place 5 years after the second movie and like the last two films, the plot is all over the place like a chimpanzee throwing lasagna. The New Movie Thing Show complained about the product placement, Movieline complained that the movie was heavily reliant on jump scares, and The Boston Globe complained that it borrowed the ending from The Blair Witch Project a far more superior horror movie.
Overall only see this movie if you are a strict Paranormal Activity fan.

Critics Consensus:007 Legends

When Goldeneye came out for the Wii critical acclaim flopped onto Goldeneye like drunk kids playing dogpile. Then Goldeneye:Reloaded and Blood Stone came out and those were pretty terrible. Activision had one chance to redeem themselves with 007 Legends. What ends up is a generic rippoff of Call Of Duty like IGN and GamingTrend stated,uninspired as called by Game Informer,while the only good thing is the multiplayer as Gaming Nexus stated. 
Overall do not get this game.

Uma guerra de gato e rato começa entre os dois e esta disputa de forças, irá redefinir as idéias de Sonny entre o bem e o mal.

Crítica:

    Eu gostei desse filme, apesar de ser meio confuso, tem boas cenas de suspense e mistério. No começo do filme, havia muitos mistérios e prendia bem o espectador, mas o final o filme? Decepção. Ficaram muitos mistérios por resolver e que mortes foram aquelas?! O filme com certeza podederia ter ficado bem melhor. Realmente, deixou muito a desejar.

   Bom, pelomenos o elenco estava de parabéns, se destacou Rose McGowan, estava muito bem, assim como Ray Wise e Lauren Vélez, atuaram muito bem em seus papéis.

    Apesar de tudo, o filme não é ruim, vale a pena olhar.

Critics Consensus; Here Comes The Boom

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new comedy starring Kevin James. Uh Oh I know what direction this is going in.

When a movie is produced by Happy Madison Productions you know it is not going to be very good. Here Comes The Boom falls right into that category. Minneapolis Star Tribune complained about the weak humor,Detroit News was not a fan of the cliches,St.Louis Dispatch called it loud,incoherent and unfunny and lastly Slant Magazine gave it a 0 out of 10.
Overall please do not see this movie unless you are some 9-12 year old kid who think that anything that is touched by Adam Sandler is gold.
Here Comes The Boom is rated PG.

Critics Consensus: Seven Psychopaths

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new comedy directed by the director of In Bruges.

Remember In Bruges? Well a sort of spiritual successor came out to that called Seven Psychopaths. It stars Colin Farell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, and Tom Waits among others. Chicago Times called it delightfully goofy,Village Voice praised the writing by and Irish writer, Martin McDonagh. Also The Hollywood Reporter said that it was terrifically entertaining among many other positive remarks. The only problem about Seven Psychopaths is that it is a little bit on the very gory side but the humor will make up for it.

Critics Consensus:Argo

When I first saw Argo';s metascore I said "Holy "(Insert Swear Here"). It was the highest wide release movie of the year with an 86. The number avatar had a footnote next to it that stated "Universal Acclaim". You might ask why so high well it is because it has a amazingly fantastic screenplay as stated by the San Fransisco Chronicle,New York Post loved the movies elegant humor,USA Today praised the performances,Box Office Magazine said that this was Ben Affleck's best directing, and last but not least Aisle Seat cherished how the story was explained in great detail.
Overall stop reading this post and go see Argo. Better yet bring a friend.

Critics Consensus:Sinister

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Sinister a new original horror movie.

When the reviews for Sinister first came out they were at a 100% approval rating. Now it is more of a low 60% approval rating. As more critics chimed in such as Box Office Magazine who complained of it's cliches that are derived from other horror movies or Washington Post with an F grade, saying that the lead character in Sinister is of low intelligence and so is the movie. Not to say that Sinister is a bad movie, those are just the worst things in it. For example Village Voice praised newcomer Ethan Hawke's performance as Ellison and HollywoodChicago called it the best horror movie of 2012.
Overall only see this movie if you want to. If you are light hearted to scares please bring a diaper or something. Even if you hate the movie it will scare you.

Crítica:



     Achei esse filme meio confuso, não é um filme ruim, muito pelo contrário, porém, ele deixou muito a desejar. A história é interessante e diferenciada, só que parece que no início eles queriam fazer uma coisa e depois mudaram de ideia, deixando o filme um tanto confuso para o espectador, no início o filme parecia se tratar de uma vingança, algo relacionado ao trabalho do John, mas depois a história muda totalmente de rumo. O final do filme, acho que poderia ter sido bem melhor, ficaram muitos mistérios por resolver, além de ter sido meio parado.
   Quanto ao elenco, Samuel L. Jackson se saiu muito bem, como em todos os seus outros filmes, Luke Wilson também estava ótimo, todos atuaram muito bem em seus papéis.
    Apesar de tudo, é um filme muito bom, se quiser ver, vá em frente, vale a pena.

Critics Consensus: XCOM Enemy Unknown

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a remake of the beloved franchise XCOM.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown had a troubled history. It was supposed to come out in 2011 and be a first person shooter, then it was split into two games under fan demand (one strategy, one FPS.) The first person shooter is supposed to come out next year but only time will tell about that. Though for the strategy game, Guardian called it one of the best games of the year, Game Informer and VideoGameszone.de praised the dialogue choices,Canadian Online Gamers praised the visuals,and lastly Planet Xbox 360 stated that this is how you bring a franchise back from the dead.

Overall please get this game. If you are an XCOM fan run to the store now. Unless it is midnight.

Tudo está bem até o momento em que a casa é invadida por criminosos e a família é feita de refém. Agora todos os segredos da família serão revelados na luta contra os invasores.

Crítica:
  Gostei muito desse filme, apesar de ser meio intediante em algumas partes, a trama é interessante, porém, poderia ter tomado um rumo diferente ao longo da história, achei o filme meio parado, poderiam haver mais cenas de ação e correria e eu acho que eles não deveriam focar tanto em um só assunto, poderiam haver mais mistérios. Quanto ao final do filme com certeza compensa todas as outras partes, por ser mais empolgante e intrigante.
  O elenco estava perfeito, gosto muito dos filmes do Nicolas Cage e da Nicole Kidmam, nunca tinha visto um filme com os dois juntos, ficou muito legal.
  Apesar de certas partes, o filme é muito legal, vale a pena ver.
